In a statement on Sunday by Mark’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Kola Ologbondiya, Mark in his condolence message to the immediate family, the Government and people of Osun State, said the late legislator was a distinguished officer and a gentleman of very high standing.
He recalled the contributions of the deceased while in the Senate, saying “Senator Oduoye was a fine parliamentarian, an astute administrator and a God-fearing Nigerian.
Oduoye, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) was military Administrator of Niger and Ebonyi states.
The Senate President while calling on the family to take solace in the fact that late Oduoye lived an exemplary life, urged them to sustain his legacy of hard work, dedication and selfless service to the society.
And in a statement by the Director, Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Office of the Governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, Aregbesola said Oduoye’s death has cast shadow on the state’s and Nigeria’s political firmament.
“Senator Oduoye was an illustrious son of the State of Osun. He did not only distinguish himself as a police officer, who rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, he also gave good account of himself as an administrator, serving in Niger, Edo and Ebonyi States as a Military Administrator.
“On behalf of myself, the state, its entire populace, we commiserate with the entire family of the late Senator. I pray that God will grant him eternal rest,” Aregbesola said.
