As people of Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency prepare ahead of Saturday’s House of Representatives bye election, the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has relocated to the constituency to map out strategies for Labour Party(LP) to win the election.
Investigation by DailyPost showed that the Governor has travelled to the coastal area to commission different projects for more than four times as part of his tactics to woo voters for the Labour Party Candidate, Mr. Kolade Akinjo.
Again, on Monday this week, the governor moved his entire cabinet to the coastal area to canvass for votes for the LP Candidate.
Virtually, every political office holder in Mimiko’s cabinet has since relocated to Ilaje/Ese odo for aggressive campaign which they see as a do-or die battle.

The aggressive campaign of the Labour Party it was gathered might not be unconnected with the lack luster performance of the Governor since he was sworn in to govern the people of the sunshine for second term.
The Governor, according to many people from area has failed to execute meaningful projects in the coastal communities in the last six years to merit votes from the people of the area.
It was also learnt that the Governor is fighting the battle of his life as
many Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) members are hell bent for him to capture the area back.
The Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency became vacant following the death of Hon Raphel Nomiye who bowed to the icy hands of death in an hotel in November last year.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also has commenced work day and night to make sure that it captures the area .
The Saturday’ s bye- election is said to be proving a point for President Goodluck Jonathan who owns the state between LP and PDP.
All State resources, according to sources have been diverted to Ilaje in order to enable the LP maintain its popularity in the area.
A government house sources who begged for anonymity said.” As I am talking to you, our governor has relocated to Ilje/ Ese Odo to convince voters on the need to vote for LP again.
“His relocation became important to prove again that President Goodluck Jonathan owns the state”.
Three political parties will be facing one another on Saturday’ s election. They are; Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Labour Party(LP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
