IBADAN – Following the discovery of an evil forest on Saturday in Soka area of Ibadan, where dying men, women, human skulls and decomposing bodies were found, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), of police in charge of zone 11, Femi Omolaja on Thursday promised Nigerians that those connected with the evil site will be apprehended in due course.
Omojola, who is in charge of Oyo, Osun and Ondo spoke yesterday when he visited the horror site in Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The AIG stated that the visit was on the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), promising that all those arrested will be prosecuted immediately at the court of law.
“Thorough investigation is ongoing and we don’t want to disclosed any identity of those arrested in order not to hinder our investigation” he said
Omolaja thanked the people of the state for their corporation and patience since the incident happened, urging them to be sensitive of their environment and report any suspicious movement to the security agents.
The police boss further warned the public from taking laws into their hands when they suspect any one, mad or not, they should report to law enforcement agents.
The AIG also described the stoppage of the demolition of the building that haboured the evil men as strategy to allow thorough investigation of the matter, noting that after the forensic experts visits the site, it will be demolished completely.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olabisi Ilobanafor disclosed that since the incident occurred, members of the public has been lynching any mad man suspected to be ritualist, adding that ten mad men had been rescued, while two has been lynched to death.
She also disclosed that eight people suspected to be connected to the site of horror have been arrested, while investigation is still ongoing.
