Police arrest man with 18 human heads in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Adelani Ayomide, for allegedly being in possession of 18 human heads.

It was learnt that the 38-year-old man was arrested on Thursday along the Ado-Odo Owode Road with a bag containing the heads.

The command’s spokesperson, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, explained that policemen attached to Ado-Odo Police Division nabbed the suspect during a stop-and-search exercise at about 6.48am.

Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said, “Adelani Ayomide,38, of Ilaro, Ogun State, was arrested today, March 13, 2014, at about 6.48am by policemen attached to the Ado-Odo division while on stop and search along the Ado-Odo Owode Road.

“The policemen caught him with one bag containing 18 human heads. The suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation.”

Adejobi said the state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefunna Okoye, had assured the general public of a thorough investigation into the matter.

“The CP said the suspect would face the full wrath of the law,” Adejobi added.
